I have been working in a traditional Ayurveda clinic in Kerala, India, for almost 4 years. I have followed the experienced doctors and examined the constitutions of nearly a thousand visitors. To be honest, it is neither as miraculous as the "cure for all diseases" boasted by Internet celebrities, nor is it an IQ tax as criticized on the Internet. The effect is very different. Essentially, it is a question of whether it is used correctly.
I met a girl who works in Internet operations a while ago. She suffered from allergic rhinitis during the change of seasons for three consecutive years. Her head was dizzy when she sneezed and sneezed. Her sense of smell was a little degraded after using too many hormone sprays. When I was doing the treatment, I first identified her constitution as a vata imbalance. Instead of using a general conditioning formula for her, I specially prepared nasal drops with elecampane and turmeric, combined with 15 minutes of hot compresses on the nose every day. After two months of conditioning, she only suffered from rhinitis once last autumn. Even she herself exclaimed that she had encountered some "magic medicine".
But on the flip side of this "magic", there are too many people to take advantage of it. Last year, a young man read in Xiaohongshu that Ayurveda's fasting therapy can quickly detoxify and lose weight. He only drank herbal water for three days at home. Finally, he fainted due to hypoglycemia and was sent to the emergency room. When he woke up, he called Ayurveda a pure scam. In fact, fasting therapy is only suitable for people with Kapha constitution, slow metabolism, and people who usually eat heavy oil and salt. He himself has a skinny Vata constitution and has a fast metabolism. It would be strange if nothing happens to him if he fasts blindly.
Many people think it is mysterious, but in fact they have not understood its core logic. As an ancient Indian traditional medicine system that has been passed down for more than 5,000 years, it is essentially similar to our traditional Chinese medicine. The core is to divide people into three types of constitution: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
It is normal for the mainstream medical community to have controversy over it. After all, many traditional herbal formulas have not been clinically verified by large-scale modern medicine. A few years ago, the FDA notified a batch of unqualified Ayurveda products for excessive heavy metals. If you come across something from an informal small workshop, let alone conditioning, it will cause harm to your body.
I usually tell friends who are interested in it, don’t think too much about it, and don’t beat it to death. The conditioning programs in regular clinics are used to treat chronic sub-health, allergies, emotional problems, etc., and there are often surprises. However, if you believe that it can cure cancer and replace regular drug treatment, you are simply being deceived. There is no magic therapy. It is just a matter of finding the right person and using the right method.
