How to treat postmenopausal cervicitis

By:Fiona Views:424

Postmenopausal cervicitis can be treated through local drug treatment, physical therapy, traditional Chinese medicine conditioning, lifestyle adjustment, and surgical treatment. Postmenopausal cervicitis is usually caused by decreased estrogen levels, pathogen infection, reduced local immunity, chronic inflammation stimulation, poor hygiene habits and other reasons.

How to treat postmenopausal cervicitis

1. Local drug treatment

Postmenopausal cervicitis patients can use Baofukang suppository, Xiaomi suppository, compound sea buckthorn seed oil suppository and other suppositories as directed by the doctor. These drugs mostly contain antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients and are suitable for cervicitis caused by pathogenic infections. It is necessary to clean the perineum before use and avoid sexual intercourse. If burning sensation or abnormal secretions occur, discontinue medication and seek medical attention.

2. Physical therapy

Laser treatment or cryotherapy is suitable for refractory cervicitis. Laser can accurately eliminate inflammatory tissue, and freezing can cause lesions to become necrotic and fall off through low temperature. Temporary vaginal discharge may occur after treatment, and the vulva needs to be kept dry. Cervical malignant lesions need to be ruled out before and after physical therapy, and bathing in the bath is prohibited for 2 months after surgery.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Conditioning

For patients with liver and kidney yin deficiency, Fuke Qianjin Tablets can be used, while for damp-heat type, Jingangteng Capsules can be used. Combined with moxibustion on Guanyuan, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints, it can improve local blood circulation. For fumigation and cleansing with traditional Chinese medicine, you can use Sophora flavescens and Cortex Phellodendron decoction, once a day. Avoid spicy and irritating foods during treatment.

4. Lifestyle adjustment

Wash your vulva with warm water every day, choose cotton underwear and change it frequently. Avoid using alkaline lotions for vaginal douching. Moderate exercise enhances immunity, such as Baduanjin and walking. Supplementing foods containing soy isoflavones, such as soy milk and tofu, can help improve mucosal atrophy.

5. Surgical treatment

Cervical conization and LEEP surgery may be considered for cervical polyps or severe erosion. It is necessary to complete HPV and TCT examinations before surgery to rule out cancer. Bleeding and infection may occur after surgery, and antibiotics such as cefixime dispersible tablets need to be used as directed by the doctor. Cervical healing was reviewed 3 months after surgery.

Postmenopausal women need annual gynecological examinations, including HPV and TCT screening. Avoid sitting for long periods of time and wear loose, breathable clothing. The diet can increase anti-inflammatory foods such as deep-sea fish and nuts, and limit high-sugar diet. If abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge occurs, you should seek medical advice promptly and do not use vaginal lotions on your own for a long time. Maintaining a regular schedule and a good attitude are helpful for recovery from the disease.
