How to treat testicular inflammation

Testicular inflammation can be treated through life intervention, physical therapy, drug therapy, surgery, etc. Testicular inflammation is usually caused by bacterial infection, viral infection, trauma, immune factors, urinary system diseases and other reasons.

1. Life intervention

Keeping the perineum clean and dry can help reduce bacterial growth. It is recommended to wear loose, breathable cotton underwear. Avoid sitting or riding for long periods of time to reduce local compression. Proper bed rest can relieve the feeling of scrotal swelling. 3. Drug treatment

For bacterial orchitis, antibiotics such as levofloxacin tablets and cefixime dispersible tablets can be used as directed by the doctor. For mycoplasma infection, azithromycin capsules should be used. Viral orchitis can be treated with ribavirin granules as an adjuvant treatment. When the pain is severe, ibuprofen sustained-release capsules or celecoxib capsules can be used to relieve it. For those with epididymitis, diosmin tablets can be used to improve lymphatic drainage.

4. Surgical treatment

The formation of testicular abscess requires abscess incision and drainage. During the operation, necrotic tissue needs to be removed and a drainage tube must be left in place. Testicular capsule removal may be considered for recurrent chronic orchitis, and orchidectomy is required for severe testicular ischemia and necrosis. All surgeries require postoperative anti-infective treatment, and normal testicular tissue should be preserved as much as possible during the surgery.

5. Traditional Chinese Medicine Conditioning

Longdan Xiegan Pills combined with Jinhuang Powder can be used for external application in cases of damp-heat syndrome, and Shaofu Zhuyu Granules can be used in cases of qi stagnation and blood stasis. People with kidney deficiency in the chronic stage can take Jingui Shenqi Pills and use acupuncture points such as Guanyuan and Sanyinjiao. For fumigation and cleansing with traditional Chinese medicine, 30 grams each of dandelion and wild chrysanthemum can be decoctioned for sitz bath, and the medicinal residue can be applied externally to the affected area.

Sexual intercourse should be prohibited during the acute phase until symptoms completely disappear, and condoms should be used during the recovery phase to prevent cross-infection. Avoid holding in urine and overexertion on a daily basis, and perform an ultrasound examination of the urinary system every year. If there is persistent high fever, severe pain in the testicles, or redness and ulceration of the skin, you should seek medical attention immediately to rule out emergencies such as testicular torsion. For long-term sedentary workers, it is recommended to get up and move around every hour, and pay attention to dietary supplements of vitamin C and zinc.
