The core of natural beauty techniques that are truly suitable for ordinary people’s daily use and proven to be effective after numerous pitfalls is not the various home remedies spread online. Instead, they use low-irritation natural raw materials to replace some chemical skin care products with questionable efficacy. Coupled with low-threshold lifestyle adjustments, you can develop good skin without spending a lot of money.
In the past two years, I followed the trend and stepped into many pitfalls. I applied some yogurt mixed with pearl powder on my face, and put fresh lemon slices directly on my face to lighten spots. At first, after applying it, my face felt slippery and white. Within two weeks, it started to become red and sensitive. Even the toner I usually used stung my face, so I went to a dermatologist. Only after looking at it did I realize that many natural raw materials that have not been purified are irritating. The high concentration of citric acid in lemons is applied directly to the face without dilution, which is equivalent to peeling off the stratum corneum in disguise. The so-called whitening is just an illusion of thinning of the stratum corneum, which is particularly damaging to the skin barrier.
In my daily skin care routine, I have already replaced the thousands of anti-aging essences with cold-pressed virgin olive oil and sweet almond oil. In winter, when my skin is dry, I apply a thin layer on the whole face and massage until it is absorbed. In summer, I mix some jojoba oil and rub my nose for 3 minutes. Most of the blackheads can come out, which is much gentler than using peel-off nasal strips. However, this method is not friendly to everyone. My oily-skinned cousin tried it once and her face became stuffy and shut up. Now she only dares to use it on her heels and elbows. It is more moisturizing than body lotion.
I had been working on a project for more than half a month, and my face was as yellow as a layer of dust. I bought two bottles of expensive anti-sugar essence and saw no improvement. Later, I followed a friend who did diet therapy and drank a bowl of unsweetened Tremella lily soup on an empty stomach every morning. After drinking it for almost two months, not only did the yellowish qi subside, but also the dry lines on my face became lighter. Some friends around me said that this was an IQ tax, and they thought that it just added some water and dietary fiber, and that whitening and anti-aging were all psychological effects. However, my daily routine and other diet did not change during that period. It was indeed improved after drinking this. I think it is also an individual difference. After all, everyone's absorption is different.
There are also some little habits that don’t cost money. My mother is 54 this year and has much fewer wrinkles on her face than her aunts of the same age. She has never used any expensive skin care products in her life. She sticks to two habits: she never rubs her face hard with a towel after washing. She always uses a clean cotton towel to dry the water. Before going to bed, use the fingertips to push along the jawline toward the temple for 5 minutes. The force is as light as touching a freshly boiled hard-boiled egg. It will never make the skin red. There are also fitness bloggers who say that this kind of physical lifting is useless. If you don’t train the facial muscles, they will quickly return to their original shape. However, I push it for two minutes before going to bed every day. When I wake up the next morning, my face will basically not be swollen. It is cost-effective anyway, and it is better than not doing it.
By the way, there is a little trick that I have been using for several years. In winter, my lip lines are very deep and I like to shed dead skin. I have tried lip masks worth hundreds of dollars, but the effect is just the same. Then I accidentally tried applying a thick layer of edible coconut oil at night. The next day, the dead skin fell off with just a wipe, and the lip lines were much lighter. However, my best friend who is allergic to coconut tried it once. Her mouth swelled like a sausage. It took three days to heal. She really made me smile for a long time. It was indeed honey to the best and arsenic to the second.
In fact, there is no standard answer for natural beauty. To put it bluntly, you have to try it yourself. Don’t think that natural products are necessarily safe, and don’t beat them to death by saying that they are all IQ taxes. Finding the one that suits you is much better than spending tens of thousands of dollars on a bunch of useless skin care products.
